Austin Pet Boarding

Leaving a pet behind when you go on a trip can be a traumatic experience for both you and the pet, but it doesn't have to be so bad when you know that they will be left in caring hands at a quality boarding service.  You could get advice from family and friends, you could ask your vet,  you could hire a pro pet sitter to watch the animal in their home, or  you could easily find the details and great recommendations on this site!

The employees at the kennel will take care of feeding watering and exercise.  If they are a good service they will welcome your input and instructions about how the animal should be cared for.  Some facilities offer extra walking and entertaining services for the animal for an additional cost.

There are a few other things to consider when selecting a boarding kennel.  You want to find out what services are provided for the standard fee.  Ask whether they provide extra services for an additional fee.  Find out what vaccines your pet should have before going into the kennel.  A kennel that has no requirements about current vaccines may not be of the best quality.

Be sure to clarify any special dietary or medication needs your pet has and make sure the staff understands them.  Find out how the kennel handle emergencies and accidents and be sure they have contacts with vets it something comes up.  Also ask whether the kennel is certified or affiliated with local or national pet care organizations.
